Rooney more popular (with press) than the Pope

It seems Wayne Rooney is more popular with journalists than the Pope.
According to journalisted, stories about the Manchester United and England footballer, who was reported to have slept with two prostitutes, generated 464 articles for the week ending Sunday 12 September.
This compares to the Pope, due to make an official visit to the UK, being the subject of 190 articles.
Andy Coulson, who ignored calls to stand down as No. 10 head of communications despite new allegations of phone hacking while he was editor of the News of the World, came third with 189 articles.
The threat of an American pastor to burn the Koran, produced 186 articles.
Covered little, according to journalisted, was the outbreak of Legionnaires disease in south Wales, 19 cases and 2 deaths up to 12th September, which featured in 18 articles; proposed budget cuts to the World Service that could lead to the closure of the Burma service, 8 articles; a cholera epidemic in Nigeria that has so far killed over 800 people in the last two months, 2 articles.
