Scots publishers in deal over jobs website

All local government jobs in Scotland are now on Johnston Press' Scotsman.com website, following a tie-up between the publisher and Scottish local authorities, MediaWeek reports.
Johnston has signed a partnership with Scottish local authority jobs portal, MyjobScotland to carry local government vacancies from across the country.
A number of Johnston Press' Scottish titles, such as The Scotsman, Falkirk Herald, Fife Free Press and the Southern Reporter, will carry a marketing campaign to promote the website.
Allmediascotland reports that STV, Scotcareers (Trinity Mirror) and S1Jobs (Newsquest) are also involved in the scheme. It notes that when the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities launched MyjobScotland it was widely feared it would deprive newspapers of much-needed recruitment advertising.
It is a fear among newspaper publishers in the rest of the UK that local authorities will make growing use of their own websites to advertise jobs rather than use the press.
